"La Cena Pasada" (The Last Supper), based on Da Vinci's fresco is a sculpture consisting of 13 1/24 scale customized cars. Each car symbolizes each figure in the original tableau. All colors of the models harmonize with the original fresco. The cars are depicted 1960's automobiles, marking the time the artist attended his Catholic Catechism; they also parallel the artist's driving interest at the time of his religious education. Thus the small automobiles embody the relationships between childlike obsession and the overlay of moral and religious integration. The sculpture thus encapsulates both tendencies bringing them together and tearing them apart.
